​​​​​​​1. Partner university nomination

Students from universities with an agreement: Your university must send us the nomination using the corresponding form. The International Relations Office sends each academic year the nomination information and the link to the nomination form to all their partner institutions.​​​​​​​

    •  First term and annual students: May 15th
    •  Second term students: October 15th
Individual applications (only at master level): If your university does not have a mobility agreement with our institution, you can apply as an individual applicant or free-mover, only in terms of master's degrees. Follow these instructions: Individual applications (master). The Faculty of Economics and Business (UB) does not accept individual applications at bachelor level.

 

2. Application for admission

Once the nomination has been received, we will contact you to explain the application process, sending you all the relevant information. If you are a student who has been selected to conduct an exchange at our faculty, you can also check here the information about the application process.

    •  First term and annual students: June 1st
    •  Second term students: November 1st
  • Requested documents for the application: a copy of the application form dully filled in and signed, a student's photography and an accreditation of the language level according to the language requirements for incoming exchange students. Check the application procedure instructions document in order to successfully complete your application.

3. Admission

Once all the documentation has been received, we will send the acceptance letter by email. If it is necessary to carry out visa procedures, we will also send it by post.
 

4. Enrolment

Although when you complete the application form, you will have to choose a list of courses, this will only be indicative. The final registration is done online once you have been admitted and we send the detailed information about the enrolment process to all accepted students by email.

5. Welcome session and start of the semester

At the beginning of each semester, the exchange mobility team organizes a welcome session, of compulsory attendance for students, with the aim of guiding them on their arrival. In addition, group dynamics are carried out to encourage students to get to know each other, as well as the group of local Buddies.

​​​​​​​Language of instruction

At the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Barcelona we offer courses in Catalan, Spanish and English. Most are taught in Catalan and Spanish, but there is also a wide range of courses in English especially in the area of international business.

 

Course Selection

​​​​​​​When you complete the application form to be accepted as an exchange student, you must choose a guide list of courses. Please note that this list is not definitive. The final enrolment will be done online in July -for annual or first semester students- or January -for second semester students.
​​​​​​​Take into account the following information regarding the course offer of the FEE-UB:
  • As an international student, you can attend courses in any field of study offered by our Faculty (economics, business, statistics and sociology), even if the agreement between your university and ours only covers a specific field.
  • The courses of the Faculty of Economics and Business have limited places. Therefore, you will only be able to enrol in a course if there is sufficient availability. In this sense, it is important you can be flexible regarding the courses you intend to do at our institution during your exchange.
  • You can also enrol on courses at other faculties at the University of Barcelona, but more than 50% of your credits must belong to the Faculty of Economics and Business.​​​​​​​ To find out what other faculties exist at the University of Barcelona, check this link: Faculties of the University of Barcelona.

Accommodation

The University of Barcelona collaborates with several organizations, such as the senior schools and the BCU (Barcelona University Center), which offer a wide range of accommodation, especially for international students in temporary stays. Besides, we also recommend that you look for your accommodation through BCU (Barcelona University Center). BCU is an organization created in 1997 to facilitate the non-academic life of international students. Through collaboration with public institutions and universities, it helps to find accommodation (residencies, apartments, etc.) and offers complementary services such as airport pick-up and legal advice. ​​​​​Language courses

The University of Barcelona offers a language reception programme through the Language Services for international students. This programme includes Catalan courses from an initial level to the Language Exchange Exchange Exchange, where you can participate in complementary cultural activities.
Catalan is a Romance language, similar to Spanish, which facilitates its understanding if you already know any of these languages. With more than 9 million speakers, Catalan is a language with a rich literary tradition internationally recognized.

Hispanic Studies of the University of Barcelona is a center with more than 60 years of experience in the teaching of Spanish and Spanish culture to international students. Barcelona is a bilingual city, and the UB promotes multilingualism as part of its educational philosophy.
Hispanic Studies offers Spanish language and culture courses, as well as instrumental Spanish courses for ERASMUS students. These courses are designed to meet the specific needs of exchange students and help them successfully pursue their studies.

The School of Modern Languages (EIM), offers training in foreign languages to the university community as a whole, and also to public and private institutions, with a strong vocation for quality and formal demand. Ordinary level courses and extraordinary introductory courses, oral fluency, exam preparation or for students from different university disciplines are offered. Tailor-made courses are also programmed to bring the recognised quality of EIM teaching to the workplace, linking the courses directly with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe (CEFR).

UB Sports

The mission of Esports UB is to provide service in the field of sport, health and leisure both to members of the BKC Community (Barcelona Knowledge Campus) and to the general public. The 100,000 m2 of sports facilities host a wide range of directed activities and make available to the university community a set of facilities such as swimming pool, tennis and paddle courts, rooms for directed activities and physical conditioning, football field with artificial grass and rugby field, sports pavilion and athletics court, among others. The main purpose of Esports UB is to direct, promote and offer all kinds of sports activities, in their various levels and modalities, to members of the university community of the University of Barcelona and to the general public; as well as to promote the infrastructure of facilities that make up its sports facilities.
