Call for the recognition of research outputs

According to the agreement adopted in the Research Committee session on March 24, 2025, the outputs of articles published in 2024 in journals indexed in the Journal Citation Reports (ISI) are recognized. For recognition purposes, the relative position of the journal in which the works are published is taken into account according to the 2024 impact factor list. If a journal is indexed in multiple areas, the one with the most favorable relative position will be considered.  

Four types of publications are recognized:  

  • Articles published in first-quartile JCR journals: €400.  
  • Articles published in second-quartile JCR journals: €300.  
  • Articles published in third-quartile JCR journals: €200.  
  • Articles published in fourth-quartile JCR journals: €100.  

Only those articles in which at least one of the authors is affiliated with the University of Barcelona, is classified as full-time Teaching and Research Staff at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the UB at the time of the article’s publication, and has activated their institutional CV Web profile will be eligible for output recognition. If the number of authors not affiliated with the Faculty of Economics and Business exceeds four, the corresponding output recognition will be reduced by 50%. To be eligible, the publication must also be added to the authors’ SIRA/GREC curriculum and uploaded in post print version to the UB’s official repository before May 31, 2025. The maximum number of articles per author eligible for output recognition is 10.  

Funds derived from output recognition may only be used to finance research activities of full-time researchers at the Faculty of Economics and Business, provided they align with the eligible expense categories of the Research Contract Program for research centers (view the call guidelines in pdf). Funding for expenses related to associate or substitute faculty members is expressly excluded.
