Objectives and competences

Objectives

The technology used in healthcare systems is increasingly complex, interconnected and heterogeneous, integrating clinical systems, medical devices, network infrastructures and cloud services.

This complexity makes it difficult to manage, maintain and securely update systems, often conditioned by the criticality of healthcare and the need for continuous availability. At the same time, the coexistence of modern technologies with legacy systems increases the attack surface and operational risk.

The lack of cybersecurity in the healthcare environment can compromise the confidentiality of health data, with serious legal and ethical consequences.

Cyberattacks can affect the continuity of care, delaying or preventing patient care. In the most serious cases, poor security can put the patient's safety and life at risk.

In this context, this master's degree aims to become a benchmark in a complex, critical and highly regulated healthcare environment. While it addresses the security of hospital infrastructures and information systems, it also delves into areas such as connected medical devices, IoMT, clinical systems, healthcare interoperability, hospital incident response, health data protection, cybersecurity in laboratories and pharmaceuticals, as well as security in clinical simulation environments, telemedicine and digital health.

Access and admission
