Objectives and competences

Objectives

To be able to analyse the factors that affect the population's health in general, particularly that of the most vulnerable populations.

To understand the complex relations between health and other disciplines such as economics, political sciences and epidemiology.

To participate in the development of sustainable solutions that contribute to improving quality and access to health, especially in the most disadvantaged populations.

To work in multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement solutions to the main problems and challenges in global health, demonstrating a concern for ethical practice and respect for human rights.

Recommended applicant profile

Graduates in health sciences and social sciences, as well as other related fields (life sciences, economics, sociology, anthropology, etc.), who are interested in taking a global, inter- and transdisciplinary approach to the major challenges of global health, especially those that affect the health of the most vulnerable populations on our planet.

Health professionals and other professionals in related disciplines.

Employees of NGOs, foundations, public-private partnerships and aid agencies.

Civil servants and academics wishing to broaden their knowledge of global health.

Admission requirements:

University degree, diploma or equivalent qualification.

Students must have a good level of English, as all teaching is conducted in this language. If English is not their native language, evidence of an appropriate level must be provided by submitting the corresponding certificate or through an interview held during the selection process.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
