Objectives and competences

Data analytics is transforming the world of sports, and basketball is no exception. This micro-credential offers specialized training for coaches, technicians and professionals in the sports field who want to incorporate data analysis and artificial intelligence (AI) into decision-making and improving sports performance. With the support of expert faculty from the University of Barcelona and the Catalan Basketball Federation, this program provides key knowledge to understand, interpret and apply data analysis in basketball at a professional, amateur and educational level.

Objectives

To acquire the resources and knowledge necessary for the understanding of the applicability of strategies and methodologies for collecting, analyzing and processing the data extracted during basketball competition and training for the implementation of improvements and innovations of impact on the improvement in athletes of a specific and real context.

Recommended applicant profile

Coaches and technicians recognized by the official federations (FCBQ, FEB and FIBA) and Physical Activity and Sport Professionals interested in acquiring skills and resources related to the use of analytics, AI and their application in training and performance contexts.

People who have a basketball coaching qualification of any level and experience.

Physical Activity and Sports Fundamental Principles.

People who do not have a basketball coaching qualification, but do have demonstrable experience in the world of sports as a referee or technical director or coach of another sport.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
