Objectives and competences

Objectives

- Develop professional skills in the field of dining and sommeliering, integrating technical, communicative and emotional knowledge specific to high-level hospitality.
- Practically apply the philosophy and service values of the Disfrutar restaurant, focused on proximity, generosity and excellence in the diner's experience.
- Offer a real experience in a professional dining room and sommelier team within a highly demanding environment like the Disfrutar restaurant.
- Develop communication and emotional skills, essential for excellent performance in the field of high-level hospitality.
- Learn the distinctive approach of sommeliering at Disfrutar, based on proximity, generosity and the didactic aspect, moving away from elitist positions.
- Master the art of listening and guiding the diner in their experience with wine, understanding the importance of service as a form of communication.
- Acquire a deep knowledge of the wine list, understood as a 'live and careful' list that is constantly evolving.
- Understand wine as an integral part of the restaurant's discourse, not as an addition, but as an essential component of the gastronomic concept of Disfrutar.

Recommended applicant profile

Gastronomy professionals, head chefs, sommeliers, bartenders, food and drink directors and graduates in hotel and catering industries and food technologies wishing to acquire the knowledge required to take on greater responsibilities and advance their careers.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
