Objectives and competences

This course is aimed at undergraduate students with a minimum of 90 credits completed and recent graduates who wish to strengthen their experimental training in one of the research lines of the departments of the Faculty of Biology at the University of Barcelona, whether they are interested in field work or laboratory stays. The course is taught during the SECOND semester of 2025-26 and requires part-time dedication. Students are integrated into the research group of the professor who has accepted them and will perform experimental tasks under his or her direction and supervision.

Objectives

- To strengthen students' experiential training in a specific line of research in the Faculty of Biology.
- To execute sampling and experimental protocols.
- To gain the ability to obtain scientific data.
- To acquire the capacity to reliably analyse results.
-To gain experience in handling and using scientific instrumentation.
- To acquire the skills needed to effectively interact and participate as a member of a research group.
- To acquire the capacity for effective scientific communication.

Applicant profile and access requirements

Recommended applicant profile

Bachelor's degree students in biosciences who have passed at least 90 credits and recent graduates (1 year) who have been pre-approved by one of the teachers of the course. All participants must voluntarily take out insurance at the time of enrolment.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
