Objectives and competences

This micro-credential enables participants to understand and apply sport as a strategic tool of diplomacy and international cooperation. The theoretical framework is combined with practical tools and case studies. Participants learn to design and implement sports diplomacy initiatives adapted to diverse institutional and geopolitical contexts.

Objectives and competences

Objectives

- Understand the role of sport as a tool of international diplomacy, identifying the actors, mechanisms and examples that illustrate its impact on relations between countries.
- Develop negotiation skills, conflict management and diplomatic decision-making in global sporting contexts.
- Apply communication strategies and sports soft power to design and implement international cooperation projects based on sport.

Applicant profile and access requirements

Recommended applicant profile

Sports professionals, sports managers, diplomats, officials of international organizations, heads of institutional relations of clubs and federations, students of international relations or sports management. It is necessary that the students have competencies in the use of technological software (Office) in order to be able to follow the classes and practical sessions that are conducted online.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
