Objectives and competences

Social awareness of violence against animals and the promotion of their rejection and public denunciation have increased. Recent legislative developments have allowed for the criminalization of what are now recognized as atypical behaviours. This type of violence is a complex phenomenon that requires investigation that focuses on the characteristics of the aggressors and the circumstances surrounding the act of abuse. For this reason, this course aims to go beyond strictly legal and criminal aspects by exploring the different disciplines involved in the conceptualization of violence against animals.
