Objectives and competences

Violent crime is a serious social problem of concern to all societies and that affects all levels of society. In response to the growing social alarm generated by this type of crime, scholars have increasingly concentrated on expanding the body of knowledge on violent behaviour and recidivism in individuals who are particularly dangerous to society. Specifically, much research has focused on the psychopathic personality, a disorder that has undergone several terminological changes over the years. In this context, this course prepares students to acquire basic knowledge about psychopathic personality.
