Objectives and competences

The Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Sexology and Sex Education consists of solid scientific and multidisciplinary training in the different aspects of human sexuality addressed using a holistic approach, and introduces the study of dysfunctions and couple relationships from a bio-psycho-social perspective. With more than 7 years of teaching, it is a well-established diploma and a benchmark in the training of sexology professionals. Sexual problems can stem from a range of different sources. Biological, cultural and psychological factors may be the cause of sexual disorders.

Objectives

To learn how to define, update and explain the concept of sexuality and its biopsychosocial, human and cultural aspects.
- To study sexual anatomy and physiology, the male and female sexual responses, sexually transmitted diseases, sexual dysfunctions, psychosexual development, the process of building sexual identity and the determination of sexual roles.
- To understand the role of the sexology professional and learn to carry out professional functions.
- To carry out tasks related to the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and health education, and to promote good clinical practice and the use of scientific evidence among sexologists.
