Nearly 95% of criminal proceedings are resolved on evidentiary grounds. Sometimes a good defence strategy in the instruction phase, focused almost monographically on evidentiary issues, leads to a dismissal. This is the sector of law in which evidence plays the most central role. This is why the criminal law professional must have specific training in evidentiary matters, the complexity of which has increased enormously in recent decades as a result of the numerous scientific and technological advances that have taken place in our century and the previous one.
