Objectives and competences

The Postgraduate Course in Gender Equality Policies in Public Management aims to provide knowledge and skills, as well as the skills necessary for the construction of feminist public management and from gender mainstreaming, through a learning process that will allow all public employees in Catalonia, regardless of their area of work, these tools can be incorporated into public management.

Objectives and competences

Objectives

General objectives:
- Advance in compliance with Law 17/2015, 21 July, on effective equality between women and men (LIEDH), regarding the obligation for basic, progressive, lifelong training on gender and the gender perspective taught by expert staff.
- To provide an experience of theoretical and practical learning that imparts skills to detect and analyse gender inequalities and qualifies graduates to design, implement and assess public policies on real equality between women and men among employees of the Catalan public administration.
- To implement changes of varying intensity in everyday tasks as a public employee from a gender perspective.
Specific objectives:
- To analyse public problems from a comparative perspective.
- To assess public problems from a gender perspective.
- To analyse and interpret indicators from a gender perspective.
- To formulate alternatives to tackle public problems from a gender perspective

Applicant profile and access requirements

Recommended applicant profile

Leading figures in gender from departments of the Government of Catalonia and other government bodies.
Staff of the Catalan Institute for Women (ICD).
Access requirements: university degree or diploma.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
