Objectives and competences

Program aimed at postgraduate students and professionals who want to develop a career in health with a global, inter- and transdisciplinary perspective by addressing the health problems that affect the world's population, especially those most vulnerable populations. The program provides the knowledge and skills needed to address current global health challenges, and prepares students to work in international organizations working for health equity and the implementation of sustainable solutions.Students in this program can take tropEd-accredited courses (see www.troped.org).

Objectives

- To analyse the factors that have a bearing on global health.
- To understand the complex relations between health and other disciplines such as economics, political sciences, anthropology, epidemiology and environmental sciences.
- To know how to develop effective and sustainable solutions that contribute to improving health in a globalized world.

Recommended applicant profile

- Graduates in health sciences, social sciences and other related disciplines (life sciences, economics, sociology, anthropology, etc.) with an interest in a multidisciplinary global approach to the major challenges of world health that affect vulnerable populations.
- Health professionals and other professionals in related disciplines.
- Employees of NGOs, foundations, public-private partnerships and aid agencies.
- Civil servants and academics wishing to broaden their knowledge of global health.

Access requirements:
- University degree, diploma or equivalent university qualification.
- A good level of English (all teaching is conducted in this language). If English is not your native language, you must provide evidence of an appropriate level by submitting the corresponding certificate or through an interview held during the selection process.
- Detailed curriculum vitae and statement of interest.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
