Objectives and competences

The master's degree is aimed at graduates in dentistry who wish to specialize in oral surgery, following the training specified in the Community regulations (CEE 678078, III/D/114/4/82 and III/D /1374/3/84, Directive 2005/36/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, of September 7, 2005), which requires three years of training. Participants must have completed the Master's Degree in Oral Surgery and Implantology (60 credits). The course is theoretical and practical, with pre-clinical and clinical practice, in which the student performs procedures in oral surgery, implants, bone regeneration and mucogingival surgery. The course addresses digital planning and guided surgery.

Objectives

The aim is to provide training that complies with European Community regulations EEC/III/D/1374/5/84 and Directive 2005/36/EC, in reference to Oral Surgery, bearing in mind that, although Spain does not recognize any speciality in dentistry, Royal Decree 589/2022 of 19 July opens the way for the creation of specializations which will necessarily have to be governed by the regulations of the European Union.

Applicant profile and access requirements

Recommended applicant profile

Graduates in dentistry or in medicine and surgery specializing in stomatology.
You must have completed the lifelong learning master's degree in Oral Surgery and Implantology from the University of Barcelona or an equivalent programme.
Access requirements: candidates must submit a full curriculum vitae, attend a personal interview, and complete a theory test (20 short-answer questions).
