Objectives and competences

This course is aimed at dentists who wish to specialize in periodontics following the training specified in the guidelines and quality standards of the European Federation of Periodontics, which requires three years of training. The teaching is theoretical-practical, with preclinical and clinical practices, in which the resident carries out procedures of: (i) periodontal therapy without incisions, (ii) non-surgical peri-implant treatments, and (iii) periodontal and peri-implant support therapy.

Objectives

To provide quality training that meets the standards proposed by the European Federation of Periodontics for postgraduate programmes in periodontics. This will ensure that graduates not only achieve high clinical competence, but also train as ethical professionals, with solid research skills and a strong commitment to improving the health of their patients and society as a whole.

Applicant profile and access requirements

Recommended applicant profile

Graduates in dentistry or in medicine and surgery specializing in stomatology.
Students must have completed the Master's Degree in Periodontics and Peri-implantology at the University of Barcelona or an equivalent programme. Access requirements: candidates must submit a full curriculum vitae, attend a personal interview, and complete a theory test (20 short-answer questions).
