Objectives and competences

This postgraduate course is dedicated to the in-depth study of the issues that arise in situations of risk and neglect of minors and the appropriate instruments for resolving the problems that arise in relation to the rights of children and adolescents. The programme content also includes issues of parental authority, child maintenance and filiation processes, provision of support measures for people with disabilities and protection and care for elderly people with special needs, and gives special relevance to the processing of both domestic and international adoptions.

Recommended applicant profile

- University graduates in areas of teaching that are related to professional practice with children and adolescents and the protection of the individual (law, psychology, education, social work, social education, labour relations, sociology, anthropology, education sciences and political sciences).
- Professionals interested in the care of children and individuals with special needs who are already working in a capacity that is directed related to these areas but wish to acquire additional interdisciplinary training.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
