Objectives and competences

This course offers nursing professionals the opportunity to update their knowledge and skills in advanced life support in order to act efficiently and in the shortest possible time to achieve optimal results in terms of both survival and the neurological status of the patient. The course is taught according to the 2021 guidelines of the European Resuscitation Council (ERC), Spanish Council of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CERCP), and Catalan Resuscitation Council (CCR) and offers practical training by greatly experienced professionals from the country's emergency and urgent care services.

Objectives

To gain the skills and knowledge to be able to recognize and identify cardio-respiratory arrest (CRA) and safely and efficiently perform expert CPR following the protocols established by the European Resuscitation Council (ERC), in coordination with the rest of the team efficiently and safely for each patient.

Recommended applicant profile

Professionals with a degree or diploma in nursing or a degree in medicine, especially if they are directly involved in critical patient care (pre-hospital emergency and urgent care systems, emergency services, intensive care services, resuscitation, etc.).

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
