Objectives and competences
This course, which is part of the Food Studies and Gastronomy Programme, will address the science of nutrients as a cause or prevention of disease and the need of having a healthy and sustainable diet for its impact on human health. Students will work on an evidence-based dietary model designed to help people eat better to improve their health. One of the topics addressed in the course is obesity, which is increasingly prevalent among adolescents and young people. The course is intended for American university students within the framework of internationalization credits.

- To develop eating habits that are conducive to maintaining a good state of health based on scientific principles.
- To know the impact of nutrient science in the case of obesity.
- To identify the most appropriate diet for maintaining good health.
