Objectives and competences

This master's degree is a programme that offers the tools required to successfully tackle current projects using systems for life cycle assessment of materials and water saving, and mechanisms to assess building comfort. It is focused on the use of sustainable materials, the application of criteria for sustainable design, an understanding of the bases of projects in emergency situations, and international cooperation making the maximum use of natural resources and the reduction, recycling and reuse of materials and, in general, being capable of designing and assessing projects.

- To master the rules of architecture and engineering in relation to energy saving and sustainability.
- To master computer tools to calculate an NZEB and the steps that must be followed in an environmental and energy-efficiency certification.
- To acquire an in-depth understanding of the regulations on sustainability and environmental impact.
- Learn the processes of self-construction present in developing countries.
- Learn how NGOs work and the main factors to consider in an aid project.
- To control the different processes required to carry out the construction or the project of a sustainable building.
