Objectives and competences

The aim of this master's degree is to train qualified professionals with both a general perspective of the phenomenon of complex violent crime and a specialization in the different types of crime. Throughout this master's degree, the student will be introduced to the practice of various techniques and methodologies such as criminal profiling, crime scene analysis, psychological autopsy, psychometric tests, specialized interviews, police intelligence, legal advice, etc., in order to acquire resources that can improve professional operations, forensic practice or the functionality of private companies.

- To acquire a basic understanding of criminal investigation.
- To understand the process for the preparation of a psychological profile in violent crimes.
- To master criminal behaviour analysis.
- To be able to apply theoretical knowledge to the analysis of real cases.

Recommended applicant profile

- Personnel of the State security forces and of the justice system.
- University graduates in scientific disciplines such as psychology, criminology, law, private investigation and medicine.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
