Objectives and competences

Emergencies are clinical situations capable of altering a patient's state of health and even endangering his or her life. It is thus of utmost importance to have knowledge and a methodology for the initial assessment of the patient that makes it possible to reduce the time it takes to perform the first diagnostic and therapeutic action. Outside of the hospital setting, such care requires certain skills that make it possible to act fast and, at the same time, quickly classify the seriousness of the situation in order to provide quality initial care.
