Objectives and competences
This postgraduate course explores the most important factors linking nutrition and cancer and trains students to assess the nutritional status of oncology patients. At the same time, it enables students to gain knowledge of various types of cancer and the side effects of treatments that could affect nutritional state. In addition, you will address the nutrition of people with cancer in the various stages of life and you will learn communication skills for the emotional approach of the patient and you will acquire digital skills to communicate efficiently in digital environments.

Objectives
- To know how to detect nutritional risk in the different stages of the disease.
- To be able to carry out a complete nutritional assessment.
- Learn the tools of the diet record and the assessment of nutritional requirements of cancer patients.
- To know how to draw up a personalized nutrition plan.
- To be able to adapt dietary and nutritional advice to the various stages of the disease.
- To know how to draw up a nutrition education plan.
- To learn the impact of new treatments on nutritional state and how to combat adverse effects.
- To know how to differentiate evidence-based nutritional advice from food myths.
- To learn about palliative care and the ethical code for treating terminal patients.
- To develop digital competences for research and telemedicine platforms.
- To develop an enterprising spirit to undertake projects, plan processes and design new circuits of action.

Recommended applicant profile
- University graduates in human nutrition and dietetics, nursing, medicine and pediatrics, in the fields of primary and hospital care.- Other professionals with a suitable profile with an interest in applying knowledge of this field. Each case will be considered individually.
Access requirements and conditions
