Objectives and competences
The clinical-therapeutic management of the interaction between pharmacological therapy and the practice of sport, necessarily complex, in addition to management of food and nutrition, requires a multidisciplinary approach. The existence of various professional groups related to the monitoring and daily management of athletes, also requires adequate training in various aspects of sports science. For all these reasons, this postgraduate course offers multidisciplinary training in pharmacology, nutrition and supplementation in sport.

Objectives and competences
Objectives
- To acquire an understanding of specific pharmacological principles, drugs and supplements associated with optimising physical performance and with the treatment of sport-related injuries and functional recovery.
- To acquire an understanding of specific factors involved in the interactions, limitations and side effects in the use of drugs and supplements in sport.
- Acquire knowledge of the functional, ethic and legal limits of pharmacology to prevent disease, injury, fraud and doping.
- To acquire criteria in the reasoned use of drugs and supplements in sport using the principles of pharmacology and scientific evidence.
- Acquire an understanding of specific nutritional principles in the context of physical activity.
- Acquire an understanding of specific diets and dietary habits and their affect on sporting performance and on functional recovery.

- Graduates in health sciences: Pharmacy, Biology, Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Biomedicine, Medicine, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Dentistry, Podiatry, Psychology, Veterinary Science and other university degrees in this group.- Graduates in teacher training specializing in physical education.
Access requirements and conditions
