Objectives and competences

This highly professionally-oriented course is aimed at podiatry professionals. It is a well-established, primarily practical course that places emphasis on the design and preparation of conservative treatments (orthotic devices, prostheses, splints) for structural or functional disorders of the foot or lower limb. Building on students' initial theoretical knowledge and practical backgrounds, it offers an in-depth look at physical examination techniques, diagnostic means, and the preparation of treatments with different techniques and materials. This knowledge and know-how are put into practice during training stays at the Virgínia Novel Podiatry Hospital.
