Objectives and competences
The first year of this course includes theoretical and practical training at the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Barcelona together with the postgraduate programme in early childhood care. The second year includes internships in child development and early care centres or other centres for the care of developmental disorders and the final Master's thesis. The course offers specialized professional training in the area of early care, giving students the skills to detect situations of risk to early childhood development, carry out preventive actions, evaluate development and the context in which it takes place, detect cases requiring intervention, and implement programmes to optimize childhood development processes and family support.

Observations | During 2025, classes take place on Wednesdays and Fridays from 5 to 9 p.m. (except for July, August and September). Schedules for 2026 must be arranged with work placement centres within the working hours of the professionals at each centre (mostly morning schedules). The work placement period may vary depending on the number of hours spent at the centre each week. The provisional calendar runs from February to June 2026, with 12 to15 hours of class per week (240 hours in total). The presentation of final master's degree projects will take place in the first fortnight of July 2026, or, exceptionally, the first week of September 2026.
