Objectives and competences

This university course in perfume science and technology provides comprehensive training in all areas of perfumery. Spain is the world's second largest exporter of perfumes; this training offers professionals the skills they need to improve the products and sales processes of industry companies. Students will acquire scientific-technical knowledge for the design, development and assessment of olfactory compositions, as well as the ability to make decisions as part of the technical team responsible for developing a perfume.

Objectives

- This course equips students with real, up-to-date knowledge of the perfume industry and its creative and innovation processes.
- The Mediterranean's long tradition of perfumery has given rise to a unique business ecosystem, whose members agree on the need to encourage local talent.
- Acquire the technical training necessary to understand the dynamics and processes of perfumery.
- The commitment is to equip professionals with knowledge of the entire perfume value chain and help them develop the necessary skills to improve the products, projects and sales processes of companies in the industry.

Applicant profile and access requirements

Recommended applicant profile

People with recent university degrees in the fields of pharmacy, chemistry, biochemistry or biology, or in related higher education courses, who want to start a professional career in the perfumery sector.

Accreditation of chemistry, pharmacy or biology (or similar) studies or of equivalent professional experience in the industry.

Other qualifications are also assessed through a prior interview.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
