Objectives and competences

This master's degree constitutes a professionalization programme and is 100% practical. It is structured in a first year of training for the clinical use of mindfulness and a second year of advanced practice in mindfulness and compassion and its applicability in the health and social fields and in the improvement of professional skills, which will end with the design, execution and evaluation of an intervention based on mindfulness.

Objectives

- To acquire specialist training in mindfulness to use as health and social care professionals in everyday professional practice. Specific objective:
- To understand the principal concepts and definitions of mindfulness.
- To learn about the mechanisms underlying the practice of mindfulness.
- To understand and apply compassionate skills.
- To understand the effects and benefits of mindfulness in different healthcare and social contexts.
- To learn the main types of interventions based on mindfulness.
- To understand applications based on mindfulness.
- To incorporate the main mindfulness techniques into practice.

Recommended applicant profile

- Graduates in psychology who would like to apply mindfulness techniques in their everyday professional practice.
- Pathology of Pregnancy II.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.

Observationsweekly sessions, alternating between seminars (Fridays from 4 to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and clinical sessions (on Friday mornings or afternoons); practical activities take place outside teaching hours.
