Objectives and competences

This postgraduate course enables students to acquire specialized knowledge in the technical and clinical use of mindfulness in professional practice, considering the therapeutic potential of these techniques. It is orientated towards professional practice that includes clinical and practical sessions. Students acquire the skills needed to apply mindfulness skills and techniques in areas where this knowledge offers effective psychotherapeutic treatment.

Objectives and competences

Objectives

General objective:
- To acquire a specialized training that broadens the students' knowledge of the technical and clinical use of mindfulness in the professional practice of psychology or other areas in which these therapeutic techniques may be implemented.

Specific objectives:
- To learn how to identify the mechanisms underlying practices.
- To recognise the effects and physical benefits of mindfulness in a range of disorders.
- To learn the main types of interventions based on mindfulness.
- To understand clinical applications based on mindfulness.
- To incorporate the main mindfulness techniques into practice.

Recommended applicant profile

- Graduates in psychology who would like to apply mindfulness techniques in their everyday professional practice.
- Pathology of Pregnancy II.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
