Objectives and competences

This postgraduate course is mainly aimed at thoracic or general surgeons from outside the European Union and aims to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the most innovative techniques in thoracic surgery and at the same time immerse themselves in a third-level center with a high complexity of patients and high volume. On successful completion of the master's degree, students will obtain a University of Barcelona qualification that is recognized in many countries as a guarantee of quality. The candidate must have a degree in medicine that is homologated in a European Union country.

Objectives and competences

Objectives

· General objective:

To learn the principles and practice of the main techniques in paediatric surgery, in order to adequately implement surgical procedures used in child healthcare.



· Specific objective:

Learn and develop the skills necessary to practice advanced thoracic surgery techniques, such as main airway surgery, mesothelioma surgery, chest wall surgery and lung cancer surgery with minimally invasive robotic (multiRATS and UNiRATS) and non-robotic techniques.

Access requirements and conditions

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
