Objectives and competences

Clubfoot is a birth defect for which the treatment of choice is currently the method described by Dr Ignacio Ponsetí. The Ponsetí method is based on a profound knowledge of the biology and biomechanics of the clubfoot and consists of a specific way of manipulating and casting and avoiding relapses, as well as knowing how to detect and treat them if they occur. The method is effective if the practitioner is deeply familiar with the method and is able to apply the technique strictly correctly.
