Objectives and competences

This course adopts a psychoanalytical approach to provide a theoretical understanding of the mental development of babies, children and adolescents and their family and school environment, as well as alterations that can occur. Graduates from areas of nursing, social work, speech therapists, teachers and art therapists, among others, can access the course.

Objectives

- To specialise in the mental development of infants, children and adolescents as individuals in their formative years.
- To acquire the theoretical and diagnostic skills to address situations in which emotional development may be affected and lead to pathological issues.
- Special emphasis will be put on personality and behavioural changes.
- To learn to identify an object of study and research in a clinical setting.

Recommended applicant profile

Graduates in psychology, medicine, nursing, social work or others (or students that will obtain the degree at the end of the current academic year) whose job is related to babies, childhood, adolescence and family.
