Objectives
- To understand the epidemiology and the main monitoring systems of hospital-acquired infections (HAI).
- To understand the characteristics of different hospital-acquired infections and the main hospital-acquired infection outbreaks produced by multiresistant microorganisms.
- To acknowledge the relevance of the environment as a source of HAI, and the main related infections.
- To understand antibiotics policy and its use in clinical practice).
- To be able to design a patient-oriented intervention in hospital infection control.
