Objectives and competences
This is a specialization course aimed at gemmologists with the aim of the course to deepen the knowledge of synthetic gems, their treatments and artificial products from all points of view. The practical part focuses on knowledge of the maximum possible number of these gems to identify them correctly. Knowledge of new techniques is also made available, some of which are located within the scientific and technological services of the University of Barcelona and the School of Gemmology itself.

Applicants with an interest in identifying and understanding synthetic and treated gemstones, and in acquiring a more detailed understanding of the different synthesis techniques for these materials.Students with a university degree obtain a postgraduate diploma; those who do not have one obtain a university extension certificate.
Access requirements: receive the title of gemmologist.
Access requirements and conditions
