Professional training course co-organized with the ICO that provides care and care for the patient in a terminal situation and their family, from any area of care (primary care, hospital, socio-sanitary and residential care) and offers you the knowledge, communication tools and support instruments to optimize your healthcare work. Includes clinical practices in specific palliative care teams.

Objectives and competences


- To acquire the nursing skills and the mental approach to provide palliative care to patients and relatives.
- To learn to involve patients in decision-making at end of life.
- To create personalized care plans adapted to the requirements of patients and their relatives in advanced disease and at end of life.
- To be familiar with communication techniques that foster the establishment of therapeutic relationships with people in the final stage of life and with their families.
- To become aware of how to manage ones own emotions during the provision of palliative care
- To identify the influence of personal loss in the construction of care at end of life.
- To identify the key areas and research needs in end-of-life care, to foster on-going professional improvement.
