Objectives and competences

The doctoral programme in Society and Culture: History, Anthropology, Art and Heritage seeks to provide top-quality, benchmark training in different specializations in the fields of history, anthropology, the arts, heritage and cultural management. The programme offers theoretical and methodological training to doctoral students and is organized into four areas of research, which allow for more complete, more cross-disciplinary training.

The numerous consolidated research groups facilitates a powerful exchange of ideas and makes research conducted within the programme highly dynamic. In addition, the programme is strongly committed to internationalization and offers the possibility of placements at other universities to compare techniques and share knowledge. Many international students choose this programme as a place in which to develop their theses and the number of international doctoral degrees is on the rise. The Faculty of Geography and History has numerous laboratories to allow researchers, tutors and supervisors to accompany the student throughout the process with personal and direct guidance.
