The master's degree in Advanced Studies in Design - Barcelona is a proposal for future design in which creativity, innovation and research are applied as knowledge tools. The course has a multidisciplinary focus (architecture, engineering, industrial design, fine arts). The master's degree is conceived in an integral, broad and transversal sense, typical of of Barcelona design, which has become an international benchmark in the last decades.
The interuniversity master's degree in Advanced Studies in Design - Barcelona provides new viewpoints on design theory, participatory networking strategies and the most innovative trends in product design. Teaching is delivered through design workshops, projects on different topics, research laboratories in materials and technology, collaborative work and in digital manufacture labs, among others.
It has expert teaching staff from leading schools such as the Barcelona School of Civil Engineering (ETSAB), the Vilanova i la Geltrú School of Engineering (EPSEVG), the Terrassa School of Industrial, Aerospace and Audiovisual Engineering (ESEIAAT), and the UB's Faculty of Fine Arts. It also teaches optional cross-disciplinary competences that address business, intellectual property and entrepreneurship topics.
