Introduction

The bachelor's degree in Economics equips students with the practical and theoretical knowledge and skills they need to thrive in economic management, consulting or assessment roles, whether at private companies or at any other public or economically or socially important institution.

The bachelor's degree in Economics at the University of Barcelona produces professionals capable of performing management, consulting and assessment tasks in the economic and business world through the study of all kinds of organizations, public policies and relations between the various economic stakeholders. It offers specialized training in the areas of the Spanish, European and international economy, economic and public policy, public funds and taxation, econometrics, micro and macro economics, and economic history. It equips students with the knowledge they need to tackle the problems posed by the current economic reality, such as the functioning and consequences of economic systems, alternative forms of resource allocation, wealth accumulation, and income distribution. The course is structured to enable and encourage students to spend one or two periods abroad, in order to strengthen the internationalization of the studies.

Pre-enrolment

Students that have studied abroad and who wish to study at the University of Barcelona may be admitted to EHEA bachelor's degree courses. Procedures for gaining admission will depend on the qualifications held by each applicant.

Previous years

Placements

Placements are supervised by tutors and subject to assessment.They are therefore included in the academic record.  There is also an option to complete non-curricular placements of up to 500 hours, which can be extended to 900 hours. For both curricular and non-curricular placements, an educational cooperation agreement is signed between the UB and the company, institution or other organization at which the placement will be carried out.
