Objectives

What you will learn The principles and practice of artistic production in different languages and cultures. A variety of specialist skills supporting policies of equal opportunities. An understanding of the expression of art in society today and its languages and techniques, art theory and artistic thought, seminal works and trends in different periods of history, approaches to artistic activity, creative processes, heritage, publication, the presence of art in politics and industry and apprenticeship. Analytical and critical reasoning skills, methodologies for the appraisal of different kinds of art, the use of historigraphical techniques and new technologies, the procedures by which heritage projects are undertaken and the evaluation of educational projects. Autonomy and teamwork skills, professional responsibility and commitment to heritage conservation and education, and leadership and self-critical ability. Applicant profile and access requirements

Recommended applicant profile

What you will need Good reading skills, a knowledge of foreign languages (ideally, English, supported by a Romance language like French or Italian) and basic IT skills. Personal interest in the art history documented in collections and heritage sites (Barcelona and Catalonia) and in audiovisual media. Successfully completed school-leaver studies in humanities and social sciences, or in fine art; applicants should also have studied history, philosophy and literature.

Admission for students with studies completed outside Spain.

Pre-enrolment

Students that have studied abroad and who wish to study at the University of Barcelona may be admitted to EHEA bachelor's degree courses. Procedures for gaining admission will depend on the qualifications held by each applicant.

Previous years

Placements

Placements are supervised by tutors and subject to assessment.They are therefore included in the academic record.  There is also an option to complete non-curricular placements of up to 500 hours, which can be extended to 900 hours. For both curricular and non-curricular placements, an educational cooperation agreement is signed between the UB and the company, institution or other organization at which the placement will be carried out.
