Progress reviews

This report reflects the progress you have made each year.

Every academic year, starting with the second academic year of study, you must submit a report on the progress of your research plan and an activity report.
Your supervisors must also submit a report on the documentation you have submitted.
If your research plan requires measures to protect intellectual property or the transfer of technology or knowledge, your supervisors, your tutor, the members of the monitoring committee and the members of the academic committee of the programme you are enrolled in are obligated to keep the content strictly confidential. You may request a copy of the signed confidentiality agreements.

Your programme's academic committee will set the timetable for the annual monitoring and assessment of your research plan in accordance with the deadlines set out for each academic year in the doctoral studies calendar approved by the Management Committee of the Doctoral School.

You must submit your progress report and activity report to the academic committee of your degree programme using the application provided in the UB E-Office.
The Secretary's Office for Students and Teaching Staff of the faculty in charge of your academic record will open the application period in accordance with the timetable set by the academic committee for the submission of applications for annual monitoring and assessment of research plans for your programme.

The academic committee of the doctoral programme in which you are enrolled is responsible for evaluating the progress outlined in your progress report and activity report based on a preliminary report from the monitoring committee(s). Explanations for the outcomes of your assessment will be provided and you will receive notification electronically.
A positive assessment indicates that you have made satisfactory progress in your research work. The assessment report sent to you by the programme's academic committee will indicate the aspects that have been evaluated as well as those that you need to improve.
If you receive a negative assessment, you must submit a new report in accordance with the instructions given in the assessment. The new report must be submitted on the date set by the academic committee in the notification. If the academic committee also gives your follow-up report a negative assessment, you will be permanently removed from the programme. If the follow-up assessment is positive, you will be allowed to continue your enrolment in the doctoral programme. The assessment report sent to you by the programme's academic committee will indicate the aspects that have been evaluated as well as those that you need to improve.
