As you will see, the department is organized into two sections. Both sections are very active in research and teach mostly in the Faculty of Economics and Business. You will find more information in the corresponding sections.

On this website, you will find information about the teaching and research activity of the department. The department is organized into two sections:

  • Public Economy, Political Economy, and the Spanish Economy.
  • Economic Theory.

Studies
The department teaches mainly in the undergraduate degrees, masters, and doctorate programs of the Faculty of Economics and Business, although it also participates in the teaching of other Faculties of the University of Barcelona.

Research
The department is very active in research, with the regular organization of seminars and workshops, as well as other one-off research activities. Most of the department’s researchers are members of established research groups, the Institut d’Economia de Barcelona (IEB) and the Barcelona Economic Analysis Team (BEAT), as well as the UB School of Economics.
