The Department is made up of a large group of professors and researchers specialized in these areas, with internationally recognized prestige. As the custodian of a long-standing tradition, the Department reaffirms its present and future commitment to offering high-quality academic programs, based on a strong focus on excellence in teaching and research. In a globalized context, internationalization is a priority, both in teaching and in the research carried out within the Department. Department

The Department, organized into the sections of Administrative Law, Procedural Law, and Financial and Tax Law, currently undertakes a broad and interdisciplinary teaching role. It covers not only university studies in Law but also Political and Administrative Science, Criminology, Public Management and Administration, and Labor Relations, as well as other programs outside the Faculty of Law. This wide range of courses, from undergraduate to postgraduate and doctoral levels, including the professional Master’s in Law Practice, is fully aligned with the European Higher Education Area.

Teaching

Teaching is one of the pillars of the Department. Teaching activities take place primarily within the Faculty of Law and also in the Faculty of Economics and Business. Currently, the Department provides instruction in around ten undergraduate and master’s degree programs, as well as in several doctoral programs. Additionally, within the Department there are two teaching innovation groups that develop various projects aimed at improving this activity.

Knowledge Transfer and Agreements
Complementing its research activities, the Department engages in an intensive knowledge transfer effort aimed at addressing specific objectives of companies, public administrations, and other societal needs. This activity takes shape through publications in the press, professional journals and blogs, participation in committees and editorial boards for legislative projects, media appearances, and more.

Research

The research carried out by the Department’s faculty is of high quality, as evidenced by the existence of three consolidated research groups. Research activity is also reflected in the large number of publications, the supervision of doctoral theses, and the organization of seminars, workshops, and national and international conferences. The dedication and commitment to research by the Department’s professors results in a constant production of specialized scholarly works and recognition through the regular attainment of research projects in competitive public calls. In addition, the Department hosts officially recognized Consolidated Research Groups and maintains a significant presence in university institutes and observatories with an established track record. All of this takes place within a framework of openness to collaboration with public administrations and society as a whole.
