The Center

IPERC’s main mission is to join the forces of three research groups of the University of Barcelona in order to promote interdisciplinary research on political institutions and their relationship with economic change and development, adopting a dynamic, long-term perspective and contributing to a better understanding of the political and economic implication of current global challenges. To achieve this, we establish the following objectives:

• Contribute to consolidating and expanding IPERC members’ research.
• Promote dissemination and transference to society of the results of IPERC members’ research.
• Encourage collaboration between the different researchers of the Centre.
• Promote the high-quality research training of junior researchers.
• Promote the participation of external researchers in the activities and research of the Centre.
• Support the international projection of IPERC junior researchers’ activity.
• Position IPERC and the University of Barcelona as an international hub for the interdisciplinary analysis of political institutions and their relationship with economic change and development.
