Teaching activity

At the Torribera Campus, courses are offered in the fields of Nutrition, Food Science, and Gastronomy.

It includes the degrees in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and in Food Science and Technology, affiliated with the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences, as well as the degree in Culinary and Gastronomic Sciences (CETT-UB). Within the undergraduate offer, there is also a double degree pathway in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and Pharmacy. Among the master’s programs are the Master’s in Food Safety, jointly promoted by the UAB and the UPF, and the Master’s in Nutrition in Physical Activity and Sport, affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. It is also linked to the Master’s in Food Development and Innovation, the Master’s in Nutrition and Metabolism, and the Master’s in Organic Agriculture. The academic offer is completed with a doctoral program with different research lines, university extension courses, and courses from the University of Experience.
Studies
At our campus, you will find excellent training in undergraduate and master’s degrees in the field of Food Sciences, supported by the multidisciplinary nature of the participating departments. If your vocation is research, you will also find the doctoral program in Food and Nutrition. And if you want to update your knowledge or learn at any age, you will find everything from university extension courses to the University of Experience.

What information do you need?
The Students and Teaching Office of the Torribera Campus is located in the Masia building. Its purpose is to inform and advise students of the programs offered at the Food Campus.

Teaching Laboratories Unit
The campus has 3,500 m² of laboratories in the Marina building for carrying out practical teaching in a good-practice environment, which provides students with additional cross-disciplinary knowledge. Students’ training is complemented by practical aspects of quality management, which are difficult to convey through theoretical teaching alone.

Mobility

Internationalization is also one of the strategic priorities of the Torribera Campus in the medium and long term. It encompasses three fundamental areas: teaching, research, and institutional activity, with the aim of positioning the Campus on the international map of agri-food sector campuses with similar characteristics. National and international mobility and exchange programs contribute to the comprehensive development of students and improve the quality of higher education. The Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences manages the mobility programs for students enrolled in the degrees offered at the Torribera Campus. Regarding research, the Campus’s researchers participate in numerous international activities through the Institute for Nutrition and Food Safety Research. The potential of the University of Barcelona as a member of major international university and research networks and associations of which it is part should not be forgotten.
