The Sona UB competition, open to the entire community of the University of Barcelona, has concluded the phase of presentation of musical proposals. The judging committee is formed by Laura Rosel, Director of Communication at the UB; Jordi Bianciotto i Clapés, journalist and music critic; Louise Joanne Sansom, founder and director of the record label Hidden Track Records, and Teresa Vives, member of the production company L’Afluent.
Among the selection criteria, special value was given to the originality of the musical proposals, both in the musical field and in terms of the content of the texts.
Out of the thirty-three proposals received, those selected will be put to a popular vote among members of the UB community from 5 to 10 June via the website. The results will be announced on 11 June, and the four proposals that receive the most votes will be the winners.
The prize consists of a performance in one of the concerts of Els Vespres d'Estiu, which this year takes place on 9, 11, 16 and 18 July in the Historic Building. It also includes a promotional photo shoot and technical production support during the concert.
