Ten years of Vespres d’Hivern

This tenth edition will once again feature projects with a strong personality and great artistic value in one of the city’s most emblematic spaces. The line-up includes Lucia Fumero, Red Stamp, Anna Ferrer and Marc Vilajuana.
The concerts will take place on the last two Tuesdays and Thursdays of February, at 8.00 p.m., and admission is free, with prior registration. To book, please go to ub.edu/vespres. Tickets will be available from 22 January, in stages and until full capacity is reached.
The artistic direction is the responsibility of L’Afluent, which also curates the Barcelona Acció Musical (BAM) for the Mercè festival. The concerts will maintain the innovative and open essence of the concert series, which has become a point of reference in the city.
Concerts
18 February: Lucia Fumero. She will present Folklore, a double album in which she integrates the mood of traditional song into jazz. A process of research into her Catalan, Argentinian and Swiss origins has led her to consolidate herself as a composer, after having travelled all over Spain, Greece, Budapest, Germany, Sweden, Portugal and the United States. Fumero presented her latest album in Vic and at the BAM. Recently, she has participated in the benefit concert for the Valencian Community that took place in the Palau Sant Jordi. The concert will be with piano, double bass and percussion.
20 February: Red Stamp. A duet formed by Aoife Nessa Frances and Núria Graham, two artists of Irish origin with very close musical connections, influenced by the most magical folk, with touches of harp and drum machines, instruments that they alternate. They present a live premiere of a journey in which they meet, mix and complement each other until they become one person.
25 February: Anna Ferrer. She is from Menorca and sings, composes songs from other times. She nurtures and gleans the song of popular roots, which, in this way, she demystifies and makes universal. This is how her music is inspired by tradition, while evolving towards her sonorities crossed by synthesizers. He has just released Parenóstico.
27 February: Marc Vilajuana. Accompanied by guitarist and friend Joel Carro, this multifaceted artist will present the double album Solstici i Equinocci, which fuses Catalan singer-songwriter’s songs, reiterative 20th century minimalism and ancient sacred chant.
