The University of Barcelona is a leader in the Spanish university system in terms of sustainability, ranked 76th in the world and 35th in Europe. These data, corroborated by the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2024, have earned the UB recognition with a Sustainability Actions 2024 award as the university most committed to sustainability in Spain. The awards ceremony was held within the framework of Sustainability Day, a day organized by Compromiso RSE, which has become the benchmark event in the field of sustainability. The Sustainability Actions 2024 awards recognize the best actions of companies, start-ups, universities and administrations for sustainability and sustainable development of society and the planet.
