Award at the Venice International Film Festival
UB students Daniela Rey (School of Cinema and Visual Communication of Catalonia) and Guillem Seuba (Faculty of Information and Audiovisual Media) have been part of the jury of the UNIMED award for the film that best represents the values of cultural diversity, within the framework of the Venice International Film Festival, organized by the Biennale. The film that won the 8th UNIMED Award at the Venice International Film Festival is The Brutalist. The film tells the story of a Holocaust survivor and, according to the student jury, “is a film that exemplifies the values of understanding between cultures, the fight against racism and discrimination, and sheds light on the roots of violence and conflict”.
UNIMED is made up of universities from twenty-four countries in the Mediterranean area, including the UB. The network aims to contribute to scientific, cultural, social and economic cooperation. The UB currently holds one of the two vice-presidencies of UNIMED.
