More than seventy different offers

As usual, this edition brings back some of the most successful courses from previous editions, such as the courses dedicated to research and stem cell clinics, neurolinguistic programming techniques for personal development, another course on mindfulness and improvement of quality of life in ageing, a course on building the well-being, or the one on Chinese medicine, as well as the course about the world of entrepreneurship and the one suggesting routes to discover the city of Barcelona from its historical and artistic perspectives, among other courses.

Aiming to widen the range of options and reach all audiences, this yearʼs offering includes, for example, a course on the management of the memory of the dead from a multidisciplinary perspective, another on Caribbean piracy and indigenous resistance between the 16th and 18th centuries. There is another about sieges in big cities over the course of history -on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Siege of Sarajevo and the 80th anniversary of the Bombing of Gernika-, and there is another course that will touch on ten books that changed the contemporary world, such as The Communist Manifesto, Uncle Tomʼs Cabin or Mein Kampf, which are not only a product of their time but also a way to politically incise on their present.

Most of the courses in Els Juliols will take place at the Historical Building of the University of Barcelona. The others will be given in other cities, depending on their features. These cities are Alella, Hospitalet de Llobregat, Sant Joan Despí, Viladecans, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Vilafranca del Penedès and Cornellà de Llobregat, where there will be four courses which are part of the 10th edition of the Summer University for Women from the 3rd to 7th of July. .
