Today, 9 July, the UB and the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) have signed a collaboration agreement to continue offering the joint degree programme addressed to Law students at the UB and the UPR. The double degree was set up more than fourteen years ago.
So far, around one hundred students have participated in this joint degree programme which offers the possibility to obtain simultaneously the bachelor's degree in Law from the UB and the Juris Doctor postgraduate degree from the UPR. UB students who complete the joint degree are able to take later the Bar Exam, which legally qualify them to prosecute and defend actions at United States district courts. Students from Puerto Rico are able to stay at the UB and complete one part of the degree here. They can get the bachelorʼs degree in Law and the masterʼs degree in Legal Practice. The Faculty of Law emphasizes the value of the joint degree for studentsʼ career and stress that the number of students interested in the programme has increased for the last years.
